Bags, bottles & cups

Australians use over 4 billion plastic bags at the checkout every year. 91% of plastic isn’t recycled & ends up in landfill. Making a change is simpler than you might think, it just takes a little more thoughtful effort to get started. Next time you shop just say ‘no thanks' and use your own bag or coffee cup!

Cosmetics & bodycare

Our skin and body is exposed to a wide variety of chemicals every day; soaps, shampoos, deodorants, moisturises, cosmetics and even the toothpaste. The toxic build up can be detrimental to our health as well as the environment when they wash down the plug hole and into waterways.

Food & beverage

The fuel that we feed our bodies has an enormous impact on our health and wellbeing. Sustainably sourced and grown food is better for the earth and better for us. Remember to buy seasonal produce, reduce meat intake, plan your menus to reduce waste, get a compost bin or worm farm and reduce food miles by buying local.

Fashion

The ever-changing seasonal trends of fast fashion do pose a challenge when it comes to dressing sustainably. The option are not at large as they probably should be, however there are an increasing number of brands that are doing a great job by using environmentally sensitive fabrics and responsible manufacturing and production techniques.

Don’t fall into the trap of fast-fashion. Buy classic, unique pieces that don’t date too quickly and last longer.

Services & Orgs

Spending your money with companies that hold eco values is another way to make a difference. Whether it’s getting your hair done at a salon that uses earth friendly products, or putting your super into ethical companies. There are so many ways to be more considerate on the services we use.

Home & Garden

Every little thing you can do, will make a big a difference. You don't have to be a fanatical environmentalist to make an impact.

Being mindful about what you spend your money on, reducing food waste, recycling, composting, growing some veggies and herbs, installing solar panels and rain water tanks, borrowing instead of buying things you only use infrequently as some ways to get started.
